Below is an overview of the ranking system your child will progress through as they train. Belts and rank are at once a recognition of progress and a reminder of responsibility. Higher ranks are expected to help guide and lead others in addition to continuing their own development.

A new belt symbolizes progress; a stripe recognizes consistency.

Belts and stripes are awarded three times a year at the end of each term. They are a recognition of a consistent demonstration of technical progress, attendance, and proper behavior. Promotions are not automatic and are made after careful consideration by the instructors of the student’s real progress.
